Experienced | Recognized | Rewarded

Across the country and over the years, the lawyers at Cochran Law have been repeatedly recognized as  leaders in the law.

In 2005, just five years into practice, Stuart Cochran was selected by his peers as a Rising Star Texas Super Lawyer.  That honor is bestowed upon only 2.5% of all lawyers in Texas.  Since that time—as recently as 2022—Stuart locally has been repeatedly selected by his peers as a Texas Super Lawyer (only 5% of Texas lawyers earn this recognition), and he has repeatedly been named by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas as published by D Magazine. In 2015, Stuart was asked by the President of the State Bar of Texas to serve on the Pattern Jury Charge Committee for the Business and Consumer Section.

On a more national scale, Stuart was recognized by Top Verdict for obtaining one of the fifty biggest settlements in the state of Illinois in 2017.  In 2018, Stuart was asked to present a mock argument at the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. relating to liability for data breaches.  In 2020, Stuart was again recognized by Top Verdict – this time for obtaining the second biggest settlement in the state of Illinois.  He has been appointed to leadership positions in class action cases in federal courts across the country, including in Texas, Missouri, Illinois, New York, and California.

Stuart is AV-preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest peer rating standard given to attorneys for legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards.

Ready to build on all his previous experience, recognition, and success, Stuart has opened Cochran Law PLLC.  Cochran Law is a commercial trial law firm focused on business disputes and consumer litigation, including complex commercial matters and class actions.  Having worked for justice for over twenty years on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, Stuart cannot be pigeonholed as a plaintiff’s lawyer nor a defense lawyer.  He is both.
